My flight landed in Lisbon at the break of day. I could have proceeded to Porto by train the same day but needed to freshen up after the long flights. The Airbnb place had an official check-in time after noon but didn't mind me dropping off my suitcase.
I then explored the area north of Moscavide metro station, the nearest to my lodgings. I looked in at the markets pictured but it had nothing of interest.
I then turned my attention to the area along Av. Dom João II. On the way I gawked at the products of this pastry shop.
I found the impressive Oriente train and bus station where I would set off for Porto the next day. It was new to me as it was built after my last visit in 2009. It is a major transportation hub.
Opposite it is the new Vasco da Gama centre with the usual shiny stores.
I did little of import the rest of day. I explored the suburb on foot and got rather tired. I was trying to stretch my day to get used to the Portuguese time zone. I would have a few days in Porto to continue that process.
